So for this work i went back to working with plaster but i tried to think of how i could make a more subtle change to my studio wall. I rounded off the corner but in a way that would relate to my ideas about traces. I left the texture kind of ruff so it would catch the light in an interesting way.
Drawing on Installation
PHASE 3: Final work
As I'm interested in making changes to an environment through installation i decided to create a whole new area that's changed from its original form. I think this work is successful because when inside you feel like your in a new space, in a different studio. Its also a public space making others interact with its form as well.
PHASE 3: Final work
I decided with this work that i wanted to do something completely new. By creating a subtle change in colour the light now activates the space differently and may also go unnoticed. This work changes not only the light colour but how it now reflect onto the surrounding environment.
PHASE 3: Final work
For this work i reused some recycled materials to activate a small space. It goes back to one of my original ideas in which i make small changes to an environment that could go unseen.
PHASE 3:
With this work i found this already cut piece of wood down in the 3D lads and painted and installed it onto the wall. it breaks the solidness of pain white wall and reacts to the light by highlighting its form. I think that this work is successful in the way in which the light helps to enhance its effect. From a distance it looks like part of the wall has been pulled forward and that it is one seamless piece.
PHASE 3:
When taking down the works i have made with plaster i became interested in how the remains of the work fell to the ground and shattered on the floor. This work highlighted one of my earlier ideas in which i was thinking about the recycling and reusing of materials and how they can activate a space without purpose.
PHASE 3:
Most of my ideas and works come through making and experimenting with materials and spaces. The works and how they turn out are unknown to me when i begin to make them and change as the process progresses and i run into trouble with some materials.
